Prerequisites ================ macOS -------- WPS is supported on macOS 10.7 (Lion) and later running on x86_64 hardware. 2. Installation =============== WPS is installed using a native DMG installer. To install WPS: 1 Download the file .dmg from the World Programming website, where has the format wps--macos-x86_64. The file is stored your download folder. 2 Open the download folder and double click wps--macos-x86_64. A Finder window opens, through which the content of the .dmg file is made available. 3 Drag the application WPS.app from the .dmg window into your system's Applications folder. To do this you might need to enter an administrator password. You can now run Workbench. To do this, open the Applications folder and double-click WPS.app. You need a license key to run WPS. This can be obtained from World Programming. When you first start Workbench, you will be asked to enter your key. For information on using WPS, see the 'WPS Workbench User Guide', which can be viewed: - From Workbench, by selecting the menu item Help > Help Contents. - As and Adobe .pdf file version, which can be found in the doc folder of the WPS installation. To view the doc folder: 1 Open the Applications folder, find WPS.app and right-click it (alternatively, you can use Ctrl + click). 2 From the dialog that opens, select Show Package Contents. 3 From this folder, open the Contents/doc folder. All the WPS documentation is stored in this folder. Starting WPS from the command line ---------------------------------- You can start WPS from the command line, if required. To do this: 1 Start the Terminal application (found in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder) 2 The first time you start WPS, you need to apply your license. Enter: /Applications/WPS.app/Contents/MacOS/wps -setinit where is the name of the file that contains your WPS key. Once the license has been applied, you can subsequently start WPS from the command line by entering: /Applications/WPS.app/Contents/MacOS/wps 3. Upgrading ============ You will need a version 4 license key to use WPS version 4. WPS will always be able to read data created by prior versions of WPS.
